Light Summer Color Type: Complete Guide to Colors, Clothing, and Make-up

Light Summer Color Season

Light Summer is a light and cool seasonal color type in the color analysis system, known for its gentle, cool, and airy qualities. This color type blends soft summer coolness with light, powdery shades.

Are you Light Summer?

This is a very delicate type. Compared to other summer types, they generally look better with lighter blonde hair. Even though their natural colour may be mousey brown or medium brown, they still look better with lighter highlights. (Usually, other types look best in their natural colour, but for some types, their colour type is emphasised by a slight change in hair colour, for example, bright spring – they also look better with hair in shades of red).

As for makeup, very light makeup is best. So-called clean girl makeup, as if designed for a light summer color type. The most ideal is no makeup makeup 😉 with pink blush and eyebrows in a natural shade. They can even handle transparent or grey mascara, as long as it only highlights the lashes and does not color them in dark black. If you use black on the eyes and pink on the cheeks and lips, it can look very much like Barbie make-up, especially with your fair skin and blonde hair. In general, overly contrasting make-up looks cheap on this type.

How to understand Light Summer Color Season?

As for clothing, just because they are a light type does not mean they have to wear only light colours. There are many colours that are medium or even slightly dark.

If you love all-black outfits, your blonde hair will suit them better than, for example, a soft summer type with brown hair, which tends to fade in black. Blonde hair balances out an all-black outfit a little. However, it cannot be said that black is your colour. I recommend not choosing black accessories, handbags, belts, and shoes. They will look too heavy. It is better to choose grey.

This type is common in northern regions. I recommend looking for inspiration in Scandi, Norwegian style, etc.

Harmony

Light Summer types look amazing in soft, powdery, cool shades. Strong, warm, or too dark colors can make them look tired.

Light Summer is harmonious in soft, cool pastels. These light and pastel shades gently blend together, bringing out the quiet elegance of this type.

Light Spring vs. Light Summer

These types are both light and soft, but Light Spring is warm and sunny, and Light Summer is cool and airy. Light Spring’s palette includes warm pinks, corals, and light golds, while Light Summer wears dusty rose, soft lavender, and silver blues. If warm tones make your skin glow, you may be Light Spring. If they make you look yellow or dull, try Light Summer.
